There are many people who do not have 'ordinary' skin and need extra special skin care products. I say 'ordinary' as there is no such thing as 'ordinary' skin as we all have a different pH balance. Some are oily, some are dry, some are classed as in between or sometimes referred to as normal, but what is normal skin?
Many, many people require specialist treatments because they may have dermatological problems, issues such as dry skin, acne, skin luminosity or they may have advanced signs or ageing exposure to UV rays. All these areas need extra special and targeted products and the good news is, these products are out there and there are many options available to choose from.
For already UV damaged or aged skin you should look for products that incorporate hydroxy acids such as Polyhydroxy Acids (PHAs), Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) and Polyhydroxy Bionic Acids. These hydroxyl acids penetrate the surface and work on living cells in the body to increase collagen and skin thickness levels thus helping in the repair of photo damaged or UV damaged skin.
For dry skins look for products that include antioxidants and moisturisers these will hydrate the skin and reduce the signs of ageing and wrinkles. Also look for products that include sunscreen, a minimum protection factor is recommended of SPF 15, these products will help protect you from further ageing and dryness and also help repair existing conditions. Also look for products that include hydroxy acids as these will aid in the repair of dryness.
For oily conditions look for products with a PHA and also triclosan in them these will help to reduce bacteria levels. You also need products that moisturise and ex-foliate it but do not dry the skin out, you also need a product that will unclog pores and effectively clean away excess sebum.
To reduce the shine that often accompanies oily skin a gel can be applied to give a more matte finish and appearance to the skin. We also need to still hydrate oily skin to further improve the clarity and the application of a product including NeoGlucosamine (clinically proven to improve theStraightening Out Your Teeth appearance of dark spots) and also a sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher is also important to stop further skin damage.
You can find skin care products that offer specialised cream and lotions for all major skin issue areas. In addition to providing individual skin care products they also provide grouped kits to fully address and treat specific dermatological problem areas such as oily, dry or sensitive skin or acne. Many of the specialist line of skin care products also include essential skin care compounds like sunscreen with a factor of SPF 15 for extra protection, antioxidants and retinoids.
So, if you are a special person with special skin, don't worry, there is a special type of skin care out there.
